WashU REDCap e-Consent Template Project

Using the template project allows you to “jump start” your e-consent process. The template contains pre-built instruments and pre-defined settings that prepare your project to complete all tasks necessary for a successful consent process.

To create a project using the WashU REDCap e-Consent Template,

  1. Navigate to https://redcap.wustl.edu/ and log in using WUSTL Key and password.

  2. Click +New Project in the top menu

  3. Enter a title in Project Title: and select “Research” for the Purpose of this project: dropdown menu, select Research. Please enter a PI name, PI email, and IRB number, if available. If you do not have an IRB number, please add it once it is created.

  4. Choose all the areas of research related to the project and a minimum of one area of research under Please specify:

  5. Next to Start project from scratch or begin with a template? select “Use a template (choose one below).”

  6. Scroll to the WUSTL REDCap Academic E-Consent Template.

  7. Select Create Project

This will create a project in Development Mode. Development Mode allows you to test and modify a project without approval from REDCap Administrators. Data are not backed up while in development mode. After testing the project, move to Production Mode. When moving to production mode you will be required to provide additional information about your project including an IRB approval or waiver letter.
