WashU REDCap Self-Service Support
REDCap is a free, secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. REDCap is used by thousands of universities, hospitals, and other research organization around the world. See REDCap (projectredcap.org) for more information. Vanderbilt University developed and continues to maintain REDCap software. REDCap software is provided free to institutions given the institution supports the system and users.
WashU REDCap is free to anyone with a WUSTL Key and is considered self-service. REDCap was designed to build complex workflows using only point-and-click functionality. This allows people with no coding or web development experience to create sophisticated projects. While this is a great benefit, building and managing REDCap projects can get overwhelming quickly. Use these pages to be your guide to learn the system, find answers to issues with the project you are building or managing, advance your REDCap skills, find language for acknowledging REDCap in grants and manuscripts, and more. Navigate using the page tree on the right of this page or the left-hand menu that is always visible.
If you do not find the answers to your questions in the Wash U REDCap Support Documentation, please Submit a Ticket. Visit Wash U REDCap Support to learn about the services we provide to the Wash U REDCap Community. And while you’re at it, join the Wash U REDCap User Community!
NOTICE: If you are collecting data for the purposes of human participant research, you must move your project to Production Mode and provide an IRB number prior to collecting participant data (How do I update or check who is the PI or IRB number of a project?)
The WUSM REDCap installation is not currently CFR 21 Part 11 or FISMA certified.
Wash U REDCap is supported by the Institute for Informatics, Data Science & Biostatistics, the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science (Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Grant UL1TR002345) and Siteman Comprehensive Cancer Center (NCI Cancer Center Support Grant P30 CA091842). See Acknowledging WUSTL REDCap for more information.
