CRBS Invoiceable Language Guide
The CRBS coverage analysis team has worked with the BJC Research Billing Compliance team to create an Invoiceable Language Guide. This document maps out how budget tables and budget language that are included in contracts will be interpreted within the OnCore Billing Grid. The interpretations in general have not changed and are based on legal guidance from both institutions as well as outside legal counsel. It is highly recommended that research staff responsible for negotiating budgets consult this guide during negotiations so the phrasing used reflects your expectations of which items can be invoiced(i.e. EKG), when they can be invoiced (i.e. at Screening) and under what circumstances they can be invoiced (i.e. when repeated for protocol visit window).
The Invoiceable Language Guide will be updated as new invoicing scenarios are discovered and discussed among the BJC and WU teams. We really hope this will increase the likelihood that when you are asked to do the Budget Signoff/Billing Grid Review, the calendar will be just as you expected AND that it will reduce the number of Contract amendments that are needed to further clarify or correct the budget language for billing compliance purposes.
