The Alliance Biospecimen Management System (BioMS) is a web application for tracking biospecimens, managing inventory, and reporting for Alliance clinical trials and studies. It builds on the old CALGB Specimen Tracking System (STS) with new usability enhancements for the Alliance biorepository network. The Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology conducts trials with new cancer therapies, aiming to develop optimal treatment strategies and alleviate side effects. It has received grants from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as part of the NCI National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) and to support the NCI Community Research Oncology Program (NCORP). The Alliance includes nearly 10,000 cancer specialists across the U.S. and Canada.
