There are some changes to the Create Kit Request page in BioMS beginning September 26th, 2023. In the previous version of BioMS, there was a Kit Needed by date which the requester filled in and shipping options were dependent on it.
In the new version, Kit needed by is not entered by the requester anymore and the requester will be asked to pick one of the Shipping options which will then determine the Estimated Shipping Date. The following are the three options available.
Regular
Expedited vis FedEx
Expedited via Non FedEx
If the Requester choses Regular Shipment, option, the Estimated Shipping Date will be 10 Business Days from the current date. Please note that Repository will try to ship by this date and it is not the date at which the requester will
receive the shipment. The actual delivery date at requester’s site will depend on the shipping option selected and its standard transit time.
If the requester needs it sooner, then he/she can choose Expedited via FedEx. If the Kit Request is submitted before 12 Noon Central Time, next day Estimated Delivery might be possible otherwise it will be the day after next day. Requester’s FedEx account number must be provided in this case.
If the requester chooses Expedited but not using FedEx, then the requester will have to provide Shipping Label(s) to the respective repository.
