Confluence Updates

A reliable way to keep editing Confluence content when you lose your internet connection

You can now keep working on Confluence content even if you go offline. Any changes you make while offline will automatically sync when you reconnect, so you don’t lose your work.

To try offline editing:

Open any Confluence doc (such as a live doc or draft) and start editing.
Disconnect your device from the internet.
Continue making changes while offline.
Reconnect to the internet. Your changes will automatically sync with the online version.

Note: You must already have the page open before going offline.

See related content recommendations on live docs

Confluence will now show related content recommendations on live docs, helping you discover content related to what you’re currently reading.

Start a whiteboard faster from your page

You can now create a whiteboard directly from your page, so your teams to start brainstorming and diagramming ideas faster.

To start a whiteboard from your page:

Create any type of page in your space.
Select Insert elements from the editor toolbar then Create whiteboard.

The number of search results for projects, web pages and goals is now visible across Atlassian apps

When using the search feature in Atlassian apps, such as Jira and Confluence, you can now view the specific number of results for Jira and Confluence. This update brings consistency and clarity to your search experience, helping you to easily categorize your search results.

To get started:

Locate the search bar in Confluence, Jira, or any other Atlassian app that displays search results in the right panel.
Enter a question, name or keyword into the search bar.
View the right panel to see the number of search results for Jira and Confluence respectively.

Making it easier to share content after publishing in Confluence

We’re testing an updated publish success flag in Confluence. Some people will now see collaborator avatars and a copy link button after publishing content.

To see and use the improved share link experience after publishing content in Confluence:

Publish any content type in Confluence.
Look for the flag that appears at the bottom of your screen after publishing.
Select the share link to open the share modal and send your content to others.

Interact with comments anytime you navigate pages and live docs

When viewing a page or live doc, the comment bar stays visible in your screen even as you scroll or start drafting a comment. This allows you to interact with these comments without losing your place in the page.

Labels moved below Related content

Confluence now shows the labels section below the Related content area, inline with comments and emoji. This update simplifies the page layout and makes it easier to use labels to open the object sidebar and see more page details.

To get started with this change:

Open any Confluence page that uses labels.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the labels section below Related content.
Select a label to open the object sidebar with more page details.

Attach multiple line labels to a path

You can now attach multiple line labels to a path and drag labels off paths in Confluence whiteboards. This update gives you more flexibility to organize and clarify your diagrams, making it easier to communicate complex ideas visually.

Open a whiteboard in Confluence.
Select a path on your diagram.
Add or edit line labels as needed. You can now attach more than one label to the same path and drag existing labels off paths.

Jira Updates

Show only your most recent space in the sidebar

Focus on the work that matters most by only showing your most recent space in the sidebar. To try it out, go to Spaces section of your sidebar and select ••• → Change view. You can still access your other spaces by selecting More spaces.

Jira: Reparent work items in list view

You can now select (drag and drop) work items to reparent them.
This makes it easier to restructure work without losing your place.

To reparent a work item:

Make sure you're in the list view within your project
Select (using drag and drop) the work item you want to reparent.
Move it to the new location (drop it). This will update the hierarchy.

Search for spaces straight from the sidebar

To make it easier to find the right space without scrolling through a long list, we've added search to the sidebar. Try it out by going to the Spaces section of your sidebar and selecting More spaces.

Jira: A quicker way to react to work item comments

You can now react to work item comments from the All tab in Activity.

To show how you’re feeling about a work item comment you can:

Go to any work item in Jira.
Scroll to Activity.
Select All.
React to any of the comments that appear.

Bulk select up to 1000 work items in the work item navigator

We’ve made it easier to manage more work at once in Jira with the new bulk operations experience. Now, when you select work in the List view or the All work tab, you can select up to 1,000 work items that match your filters with a single click from the bulk operations toolbar, even if they aren’t all loaded on your screen.

Previously, you could only select 50 items at a time.

To bulk select multiple work items:

Apply your desired filters in the List view or All work tab in your Jira space to find work you’d like to bulk change.
Select a work item, by either clicking the top left checkbox or the “Select all” button in the toolbar.
The first 1,000 issues or the total work items matching your filters will be selected automatically (whichever is higher).
You can now perform bulk actions, like edit, delete, or move, on all selected items at once.
