REDCap Ticket System Required for ANY and ALL Requests

We need you to Submit a REDCap Ticket rather than emailing the helpdesk or individual support team members.  This is to provide an accurate estimate of our effort providing support to WashU REDCap users. For a detailed description of why this in necessary, please read this blog.

New REDCap Features Coming in October

 We will upgrade WashU REDCap in mid-October which will come with new features!!  These features include new built-in e-Consent tools and a multi-field editing tool.  Please attend the REDCap User Community Meeting on September 18th at noon to get a sneak peak of these features and an opportunity to begin testing these tools before they go live into REDCap.

PI and IRB Number Required in ALL Projects with Human Research Participant Data

 We have noticed REDCap projects in production that do not have a PI or approved IRB number included in the Project Purpose. We will begin conducting an internal audit later this year to ensure this information is included all projects containing Human Participant Research data.  This needs to be done for compliance reasons and to ensure you are not locked out of your project if users leave the study team or university.  If there is no PI listed or IRB and the only person who adds users to projects leaves the university, we have no way to know who can provide permission to add new study members. If there is a PI listed, we can easily reach out to them for permission to add new users, if necessary.  Please see this FAQ for information to add a PI and IRB Number: How do I update or check who is the PI or IRB number of a project?      

Intro to Webinar Series Recordings

 The Creating Forms and Surveys, Entering and Exporting Data, and Survey Setup and Distribution webinar recordings have been posted to the Introduction to REDCap Webinar series section of the REDCap Training Resources page.  The Longitudinal Projects recording from September 12, 2024, is still in post-production due to a technical issue that occurred during the session.  There is a Longitudinal Projects recording from February 2024 posted until the new session is completed and posted.
